Citigroup, you know the investment bank guys, well according to a report of theirs that the China Times got their hands on Apple will unveil its iPhone 5S in early September along with a low-cost model for emerging markets. The note also says that 2013 will mark the first time Apple will introduce not one, but two fresh iPhone versions. Both the iPhone 5S and the cheaper version will launch in September.
The falls in line with Tim Cook’s own comments at the companies quaterly earnings call where he was quoted as saying, “Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware and services we can’t wait introduce this fall and throughout 2014.”. Also noted in the Citigroup report were the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2, which both should launch in the September – October timeframe.
Expect Apple to give us some hints on what they are working on at their World Wide Developers Conference in June.
