Lenovo Legion 9i Announced With RTX 4090 And World’s Thinnest Water-cooling System

The Legion 9i is a stylish gaming laptop that catches the eye due to its slim design and top-tier components. It boasts impressive hardware like the Intel Core i9-13980HX processor and the GeForce RTX 4090 16GB graphics card, which currently holds the title for the most potent combination in the laptop market. To keep its sleek 18.9 mm profile intact, Lenovo has introduced an inventive cooling mechanism centered around water cooling.

Lenovo has stated that the Legion 9i will introduce the thinnest water cooling system globally. In the official presentation, a Lenovo spokesperson demonstrated a slide highlighting that this cooling system engages exclusively when the laptop’s temperature hits 84°C. This clever arrangement eliminates the necessity for the liquid pump to operate during periods of inactivity or when the laptop isn’t being used for gaming.

Furthermore, this innovative cooling method integrates three fans, while the laptop’s chassis provides ample room for two M.2 2280 SSDs and two DDR5 DIMM slots (certain configurations will include 2x32GB DDR5-5600 memory). Despite the compact design, the laptop manages to incorporate a 4-cell 99.9 Wh battery.

Regarding the screen, Lenovo has chosen a 16.3-inch 2K IPS display with a flexible refresh rate that can go as high as 165 Hz. Previous information hinted that it’s a Mini-LED display. Referred to as the “PureSight Gaming” display, the laptop’s lid is adorned with a unique carbon material cover, enhancing its overall attractiveness.
