Lexar ARES DDR5 Overview
Taking a first look at the ARES DDR5 memory we can see that it sports some very attractive dark grey heatspreaders. These look quite nice, especially to the ones we saw on their Hades RGB DDR4 memory. As of right now Lexar is only offering DDR5 in this dark grey color.
The heatspreaders have a small Lexar logo on the center and say “DDR5” towards the bottom left. There are also light great accents on each side. Above the heatspreaders is sort of a black plastic cap or top cover that says ARES. We assume when the RGB version of this memory comes out this section will be clear and light up with RGB lighting.
Flipping the memory over on the other side there is a small sticker that has the serial number, capacity, and timings. As a reminder this is the LD5CU016G-R5200GD2A kit which is a 32GB (2x16GB) kit running at 5200 MHz with timings of 38-38-38-74 at 1.25V.
The top cover actually has no logo or anything on it, which I know a lot of people will actually appreciate. For those wondering at its highest point we measured the memory at 42.2 mm.
