A Closer Look at the MSI MPG CORELIQUID P22 360 W Liquid CPU Cooler

We of course have the MPG CORELIQUID P22 360 W where the “W” denotes white. There is a black version of the cooler as well which is just called the MPG CORELIQUID P22 360. For the white version we have an all white radiator, white fans, white tubing, white cabling, and of course the pump housing cover is white as well.

Starting with the radiator itself it has a thickness of 27.2mm and a fin density of 20 FPI (fins-per-inch), both of which are very typical for 360mm radiators in this class.

Exiting the radiator from one end are the EPDM+IIR cooling lines, which are 390mm long. These connect to the radiator via crimped connectors.

Moving along to the fans we have three of MSI’s CycloBlade 7 120mm ARGB fans. These fans feature a hybrid blade design and will run between 500 and 2000 RPM with a max airflow of 62.6 CFM, max air pressure of 2.36 mm-H2O, and max noise level of 31.1 dBA. These fans have rubber in the corners to cut down on vibration noise and as I mentioned they are pre-installed on the radiator.

The fans are daisy-chained together with proprietary connectors, while this is not as elegant as the fans the simply snap together, we do appreciate that we really don’t have to connect the fans to each other for either power or RGB.

The pump block of course houses one of the main features of the MPG CORELIQUID P22 360 W, which is a 2.1-inch 540 x 540 pixel LCD display. It seems MSI has opted for an LCD rather than the IPS display that we saw on the MPG CORELIQUID P13. Also gone is the domed top cap, not it is just flat.

You’ll find your cooling lines exiting from one side of the pump block via swiveling fittings. These make installation and moving the block around much easier. Another noticeable change compared to the MPG CORELIQUID P13 is that the PWM and USB cables do not go up into the sleeved tubing, but rather come off the pump-block on their own.

Coming down to the base of the pump-block we have a large rectangular copper base. Unlike many new liquid CPU coolers, the one does not come with pre-applied thermal paste. I actually prefer to install my own thermal paste. The base is nice and smooth, but we can see machining marks visible. We can also see that MSI is using a universal mounting bracket for both Intel and AMD installations, so no having to switch out a bracket, which is definitely nice.
