NVIDIA GA103 Graphics Processor Featuring 496 mm² Die Area Pictured

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GA103 GPU’s first photos have been released. A Chinese YouTuber Geekerwan has finally posted some photos of the RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU. The first news on GA103 GPU came in 2019 when Kopie7Kimi gave the first statement on the supposed NVIDIA Ampere lineup. GA103 was a part of the GeForce RTX 30 series. This information was confirmed by the company in January 2022.

The company officially released its GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU. It features a GA103S/GA103M GPU labeled as GN20-E8-A1 for this mobile graphics card. According to the rumors, the GA103 GPU was to possess up to 7680 CUDA cores. However, the mobile 3080 Ti has up to 7424 cores.

It also comes with 32-bit memory controllers, which show a maximum of 320-bit memory bus. On the other hand, RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU has a 256-bit interface. The confirmation of all this information can not be done until the company shows the official block diagram of this latest GPU.

The leakster, Geekerwan, revealed that the GA103 is only being used by RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU, while the 3070Ti has GA104 GPU. He claims that the GA103 GPU measures 496 mm². This makes the GPU 26.5% larger than GA104 and it gives 25% more cores.

NVIDIA has not made its plans clear about the GA103 GPU for desktops. It is anticipated that GA103 will be a part of the RTX 3070+ series in the coming times.
