NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 To Consume More Power Than RTX 3070

This time the Kopite7kimi is going after NVIDIA’s next-gen RTX 4060 graphics card which is said to be released with a TDP greater than that on the RTX 3070. Let’s recall, the RTX 3070 has been designed based on a cut-down GA104 GPU, the TDP of which remains at a low 220W. This gives us enough indication towards the TDP we can expect from the RTX 4060.

Moving from generation to generation, NVIDIA has followed an increasing trend in the TDP for its GeForce xx70 and xx60 series. Hence, the high TDP for the RTX 4060 comes as no surprise. However, this might make one wonder if the GeForce performance segments hold any reliance as new SKUs keep getting added and come with more power and an even higher price.

We are hearing rumors about the RTX 40 series release dates and according to Wccftech, the launch date has changed by a month once again. And alongside this, the RTX 4060 has also been mentioned which will possibly debut at the CES 2023.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 – October 2022 Launch
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 – November 2022 Launch
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 – December 2022 Launch
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 – January CES 2023 Unveil

Since the rumors originally started circulating back in July last year regarding RTX 4090-4070 series, the launch dates have been getting changed with a gap of every month. This has clearly led to some confusion around the release dates which has further added to the uncertainty of the board partners. The trickle-down effect of this will be seen in the form of excess RTX 30 inventory being sold off even before the release of the ‘Ada’ generation.
