With GA102 GPU and 1024 CUDA cores, the new A5500 is the newly announced graphics card for desktop workstations by NVIDIA. We are seeing a similarity here with the specs of the RTX 3080 Ti gaming GPU. However, there is one major area where it distinguishes and that is GDDR6 memory on the workstation model, featuring the EEC. The gaming GPU on the other hand features a GDDR6X. We are still waiting for NVIDIA to announce more details on the specifications spectrum such as TDP or the clock speeds for instance.
Additionally, NVIDIA is set to release six new laptop workstation GPUs which also includes the A5500 flagship model fully equipped with a GA103 GPU with 7424 cores. Moreover, it will have a GDDR6 memory of 16 GB. This brings us to the conclusion that NVIDIA is also diving into RTX 3080 Ti desktop as well as laptop relaunch for workstations.
RTX A500 with just 4 GB of memory and 2048 CUDA cores, it is the slowest Ampere laptop GPU that has been released till now. There are other models too like the A1000 (4 GB), the A2000 (8 GB), and the A3000 (12 GB). The RTX A4500 is slightly upgraded and will feature a 16 GB memory with a GA 104 GPU.
