NVIDIA’s Smallest Ada GPU To Be Used in the GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs Pictured

The smallest Ada Lovelace GPU from NVIDIA, known as the AD107-400, has been captured in images and will be utilized in the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card.

The AD107 GPU is the smallest among the “107” class chips in recent years, measuring 146mm2. It is 27% smaller than the GA107 and TU117 GPUs. This chip is specifically designed for entry-level and mainstream GPUs like the RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 series. It has already been featured in the mobile RTX 4060 and RTX 4050 GPUs, and the latest variant, the AD107-400, will soon be available for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 GPUs starting in July.

MEGAsizeGPU recently leaked a picture revealing that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card will utilize the AD107-400-A1 GPU. This GPU represents the complete chip, and but the exact transistor count hasn’t been disclosed by NVIDIA.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is anticipated to utilize the AD107-400-A1 GPU, which represents the fully enabled AD107 Ada die. It is important to note that the same configuration is also used for the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU. The chip is expected to include 3072 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory operating at memory speeds of 17 Gbps, utilizing a 128-bit bus interface. This configuration provides the card with a bandwidth of 272 GB/s, effectively rated at 453 GB/s, which is 26% higher than that of the RTX 3060. This boost in performance is made possible by the inclusion of 24 MB of L2 cache.

The upcoming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to have a 35% lower Total Graphics Power (TGP) compared to its predecessor, the RTX 3060 12 GB. The card is rumored to feature a TGP of 115W, with actual power consumption during gaming estimated to be around 110W. Idle power consumption is projected to be 7W, while video playback power consumption is estimated at 11W. At launch, the RTX 4060 will be available in various custom models, but there won’t be a Founders Edition (FE) variant for this particular card.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is set to launch in July, alongside the 16 GB variant of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. The RTX 4060 will be priced at $299 US, but it will not have a Founders Edition (FE) variant.
