Compact gaming and Mini PCs are in high demand because of their portability. While carrying a full-sized rig in a backpack is impractical, these new mini-gaming PCs offer a significant reduction in weight without compromising much on performance.
OneXPlayer, known for its gaming handhelds, has just released the OneXPlayer M1, touted as the most powerful Mini PC featuring Intel Meteor Lake “Core Ultra” CPUs.
The M1 Mini PC is compact, with dimensions of just 196 x 120 x 32mm, making it small enough to fit into a loose pocket. Weighing only 599 grams, it is about 270 grams lighter than the OneXGPU, which used a similar design but was just an eGPU solution. This makes it easy to carry anywhere, ideal for small LAN parties. The enclosure features a minimalist design with a small vent and fan on one side for heat dissipation, along with attractive RGB lighting on both ends.
The OneXPlayer M1 Mini PC comes with numerous ports on both the side and the back, including an OcuLink port. This allows users to connect an external dock, like the OneXGPU, to enhance the PC’s graphical performance, enabling the latest games to be played on high to ultra settings. The OneXGPU, which features an AMD Radeon 7600M XT GPU, is priced at $699, potentially making it too costly for some users. However, the M1 is already equipped with a powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, which combines a 16-core power-efficient CPU and an Intel ARC integrated GPU with 8 Xe cores.
The Intel Core Ultra CPU operates at 45 watts by default but can boost to 60 watts in Turbo mode for enhanced performance. The system comes with a wireless card supporting WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 for connecting wireless peripherals. Additionally, it offers multiple USB ports for high-bandwidth devices and a LAN port for a lag-free gaming experience.
The OneXPlayer M1 Mini PC comes with an M.2 2280 connector, offering 1TB or 2TB of PCI-E 4.0 x4 storage, and a SODIMM slot that supports up to 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM. The model with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is available for pre-order in Japan for ¥142,310. Additionally, the company is offering a 10% discount for those who purchase it along with the OneXGPU.
