Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4-3600 64GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts

So Patriot has brought back a memory kit that first hit the scene in 2015, but obviously made some changes. We have the same Viper 4 heatsink design, but obviously everything has been all blacked out, including the PCB. One of the biggest eye-sores on the original Viper 4 memory was the green PCB. The black PCB not only looks great, but of course fits into the “blackout” theme.

Over the past couple of years we went through the RGB craze, where everyone wanted RGB lighting on everything, which included memory. It was actually hard to find decent memory kits that did not have RGB lighting on them. It seems memory makers have realized that enthusiasts want high performance memory without RGB lighting and I think the Viper 4 Blackout is a great choice. The all-black design really match pretty much any motherboard out there unless it is completely white.

As far as performance goes this kit performed great and we were even able to push it to 3800 MHz without even touching timings or voltage. Sadly this was as high as we could go as even with increased voltage we could not get a stable overclock above 3800 MHz. Patriot does offering Blackout kits all the way up to 4400 MHz so if you are looking for a fast kit they have it and don’t forget Patriot backs each kit with a lifetime warranty.

Right now you can pick up the 64GB 3600 MHz kit at our favorite online retailer for $259.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout DDR4-3600 64GB Memory Kit a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
