Patriot Viper RGB DDR4 Overview
This time Patriot has sent us the black version of the memory. Each module has an all black heatspreader with a matching black PCB. Patriot also offers a white version of their Viper RGB memory, but it is only available in speeds up to 3200 MHz.
The heatspreaders have a pretty basic design compared to others we’ve seen. Basically you have a large viper head with a smaller viper head in the center. While most of the heatspreader is black the inner viper head is silver.
On the opposite side of the modules you’ll find a small sticker which will let you know the model number, capacity, and speed of the kit.
Along the top of each module is a large white diffuser for the RGB LEDs that sit below. In the center there is a large VIPER logo so everyone will know you are rocking Patriot Viper memory.
Unlike most RGB modules that have a flat diffuser, the one on the Viper RGB angles up on each end. This gives the memory a different look, although it will add a little more height to each module. According to our measurements these modules are 45.4 mm tall at their highest point.
