RAVPower Mini Portable Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

As we take a look at another portable solid state drive it is really hard to not like these drives. The RAVPower Mini Portable Solid State drive is one of the smallest portable drives we’ve reviewed, which of course makes it easy to take with you anywhere. You can simple put it in your pocket and you are good to go. It is nice that they have included a little carrying pouch and not only a USB-C cable, but a USB-C to USB-A cable. Another thing that is great is that RAVPower does have software that allows you to password protect your files.

As far as performance goes this drive performs pretty much how most USB 3.2 gen 1 drives do, although our numbers were a bit under the advertised speeds of 540 MB/s. Even so the speeds we achieved are more than enough to make this a great drive for transferring files, a portable game drive, or even a video editing drive.

With that said it is 2021 and we currently have much faster USB 3.2 gen 2 and USB 3.2 gen 2×2 drives out there. Right now this drive is selling at our favorite online retailer for $149.99, but there is a $35 coupon, which brings the price down to $114. That price is in line with other USB 3.2 gen 1 portable solid state drives. It is also worth noting that RAVPower does back up the drive with a 3-year warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the RAVPower Mini Portable Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
