Retailers Tease AMD Ryzen AI 300 And Ryzen 9000 Series Launch Date

AMD has only confirmed that the new Ryzen CPUs will be released next month, without specifying a date. However, those interested in the new AMD products might find listings from various retailers, some of which include availability dates.

The Ryzen 9000 series is now listed by major US retailer B&H, with availability for ‘preorder’ on July 31. This terminology might be inaccurate since AMD had promised a July launch, indicating a hard release date. Nonetheless, this suggests that the desktop update could be scheduled for the last day of the month.

Additionally, BestBuy has announced a new launch date for an ASUS laptop featuring the Ryzen AI 300 CPU. This product is set to launch on July 15, two weeks before the desktop update.

AMD Zen5 Launch Dates:
Laptop: AMD Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” – July 15, 2024
Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” – July 31, 2024

AMD announced up to 100 design wins featuring Ryzen AI processors, indicating that the ASUS laptop could be among the initial wave of products. Only a few designs were unveiled at Computex, so the remaining models likely include Mini-PCs and possibly handhelds. This is definitely something to look forward to.

What is clear, however, is that both AMD Zen5 series will launch before Intel’s next-gen client series with Lion Cove/Skymont CPU architectures, expected in Q3 for mobile and Q4 for desktop.
