Keep in mind for testing the advertised speeds for this drive are 7000 MB/s read and 6850 MB/s write.

Our first test is SiSoftware Sandra’s Physical Disks benchmark. We run both the read performance test.

ATTO Disk Benchmark measures transfer rates across specific lengths. ATTO uses RAW data, our transfer sizes ranged from 0.5 to 8192kb. ATTO is usually our definitive benchmark for solid state drives.

As you can see from these results the drive performs pretty well, but at about 80% the write performance really starts to decline. This is typically a sign of This is typically a sign of thermal throttling and we’ve seen this on other drives based on the Phison E18 controller. To test this we used Sabrent’s own M.2 cooler, which they sell for $24.99. It is pretty awesome and has heatpipes!

Running the test with proper cooling we can see the drive performed without any throttling issues.
