Samsung has unveiled a new laptop equipped with Intel’s cutting-edge Core Ultra 200V processor, known by the codename Lunar Lake. This laptop shares similarities with HP’s OmniBook, as it functions as a 2-in-1 device that can be transformed into a tablet.

Lunar Lake’s low power consumption enables companies like Samsung to create smaller yet more powerful systems while staying within the same or even lower power limits. The Lunar Lake processor operates in a TDP range of 17W to 30W, but the Book5 Pro 360 will specifically use the 17W TDP versions. Samsung has confirmed that their new laptop will be powered by either Core Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 processors, though they haven’t provided the exact models. Only the Core Ultra 9 comes with a higher default power level.

The laptop comes with a 16-inch display featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio. It has an AMOLED screen that offers a peak brightness of 500 nits, a 120Hz variable refresh rate, and 120% DCI-P3 color coverage. The display supports touch input, and users can also interact with it using a stylus called the S Pen, which is included with the device.

The new laptop is powered by the Core Ultra 200V processor, which includes 8 CPU cores and up to 8 Xe2 GPU cores, along with integrated Arc 130V or Arc 140V graphics. Samsung is also emphasizing several custom AI features, such as Circle to Search with Google, Chat Assist, Live Translate, and Transcript Assist. These features are distinct from Microsoft’s Copilot+PC functionalities. While Samsung refers to it as a Copilot+PC device, official certification for Lunar Lake is not expected until at least November.
