The AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS APU is making its way into distinctive gaming handhelds like Tecno Mobile’s Pocket Go AR. AMD’s high-end Ryzen chips are not only featured in traditional devices like PCs and notebooks but are also powering unique gaming devices, with Tecno Mobile set to reveal the Pocket Go at MWC 2024.

Tecno Mobile’s Pocket Go stands out as a premium handheld gaming console without an integrated display. Instead, it relies on AR glasses with dual 0.71-inch Micro-OLED displays, connected to the device through a standard USB Type-C cable. These OLED AR glasses are versatile, compatible with various devices beyond the handheld console.

Contained within the controller of the Tecno Mobile Pocket Go handheld is its primary hardware, contributing to its bulkier appearance. While equipped with standard buttons, joysticks, and triggers typical of a controller, it also accommodates the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS APU.

The Tecno Mobile Pocket Go AR gaming handheld is equipped with a 50Wh battery for the glasses, providing impressive 215-degree projections at a 6m distance for an immersive gaming experience on the move.
