ViewSonic VX2433wm 23.6-inch Widescreen HD LCD Monitor Review

Final Thoughts

The ViewSonic VX2433wm is a great display, I really didn’t find much wrong with it. I had never reviewed a 16:9 monitor (all 16:10) so I was surprised when I opened it up and it was a bit wider than my other displays. A 24-inch 16:10 monitor has a native resolution of 1920 x 1200, whereas this 16:9 display has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. So you are losing some height, but I really do enjoy this aspect ratio. I really like how wide it is, especially when working in Photoshop or watching videos on it.

Gaming on this display is great too, the 2ms response time and great color reproduction makes playing games great! I really enjoyed it while playing FPS’s because with the wider display it seemed like I could see more of what was going on.

Another benefit of this display is that it has an HDMI input, which means you can use things like a Blu-ray player or gaming system with the display. This makes it more than just a computer monitor. So it would be great for a dorm room or somewhere that you would have multiple devices connected to it.

The only thing that I did not like about this display was the speakers. For one they are positioned on the back of the display, which means they audio will come out the back not towards you. Also they are not very powerful at all.

Geeks.com is selling this display refurbished for $209.99, which is a great price for a full HD display. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ViewSonic VX2433wm 23.6-inch Widescreen HD LCD Monitor a 9 out of 10 score.
