Testing – HDTune & ATTO Disk Benchmark
HD Tune Pro is one of the most popular hard drive software suites available. It has many different benchmarks and tests built into it. Now since this is actually two drives in one and HD Tune reads it as a single drive we cannot do the typical read and write benchmarks. So we will be running the file benchmark which will gives us a good idea of sequential read and write speeds as well as transfer speeds over specific file sizes. First up is the SSD portion of the drive.

As you can see the sequential read speed stays right around 425 MB/s while the write speed jumps around a bit but is around 140 MB/s. Now let’s see how fast the mechanical hard drive part of the drive is.

Here we see that we have sequential read and write speeds of 112 MB/s and 78 MB/s respectively. The file test shows just about the same.
Next up we have ATTO Disk Benchmark that measures transfer rates across specific lengths. ATTO uses RAW data, our transfer sizes ranged from 0.5 to 8192kb. ATTO is usually our definitive benchmark for all storage devices. First up the is SSD part of the drive.

Here we can see the drive tops out at 411 MB/s read and 149 MB/s write. Now let’s see how the hard drive section of the drive does.

Both read and write speeds are around 113 MB/s.
