Widespread Supply Shortages & Price Hikes Seen For NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 GPUs Including RTX 4060 Ti

NVIDIA’s RTX 40 series GPUs, especially the RTX 4060 Ti, are facing significant supply challenges, resulting in price hikes. Chinese industry sources indicate strong demand for mid-range GPUs, particularly the RTX 4060 Ti, amid supply chain constraints. This situation could lead to an overall price increase of around 10%.

The cause of this situation is evident. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti has become highly sought after as an entry-level GPU for gamers, particularly in China, driving a surge in demand. However, reports indicate that the supply has been intentionally limited to conservative levels, with AIB shipments reportedly as low as 50 units. This disparity has led to inflated prices, and as a result, significant price increases are anticipated in the market, particularly in mainland China.

Companies like MSI and ASUS have begun to gradually raise prices, starting last month, in response to the demand and supply dynamics. If you’re considering a mid-range NVIDIA GPU, now might not be the ideal time to make a purchase.

This development doesn’t necessarily indicate a similar impact on global markets. Instead, prices in regions like the US and Europe are experiencing a varied decline, with most GPU models priced below regional MSRPs. The situation is notably challenging in China, where the market is affected by US sanctions, leading to anticipated shortages reflecting market sentiments.
