Zissu’s 15.6″ Portable Monitor Overview
As it’s name suggests, this monitor features a 15.6″, 1920 x 1080 screen, with a refresh rate of 60Hz. Using IPS technology, the Zissu’s 15.6″ portable monitor claims to be “HDR”, but the 220 nits rating is much lower than anything we would consider to be truly HDR. Out of the box, the screen is amazingly thin and light, with a thickness of just 0.16 inches at the thinnest point, and a weight of 1.7 pounds.
A black metal frame surrounds the border of the monitor, while plastic panels make up the front and back sides. Both materials, in addition to the matte screen material, make for a very sophisticated looking product. Just below the screen on the front is a small Zissu’s name tag in the center of the lower panel.
The back of the monitor is a mostly flat surface, though the lower third is home to an adjustable stand that houses the monitor’s connectivity ports, as well as the physical controls.
As we just noted, the Zissu’s 15.6″ portable monitor has an adjustable stand that can fold all the way flat against the back of the screen, or open away from the back panel to allow for a viewing angle between 45-90 degrees. The stand is secured to the body of the monitor via hinges at each end, and these hinges have a very solid and tensioned feel to them.
On the left side of the stand we find two USB-C connections, either of which can be used for power and/or audio and video transmission. Just below, we find a Mini HDMI port which pairs up with the included Mini HDMI to HDMI cable.
The right side of the stand is home to a 3.5mm audio port for connecting headphones or speakers, as well as a toggle button and power button. The toggle button allows for on-screen menu navigation and item selection, while the power button also works as a back button and input source selector.
Four rubber feet, two on the screen and two on the stand, help keep the monitor in place and at the desired angle. Also found on the bottom of the stand are four small openings for the built-in speakers.
