AMD Ryzen 7 8700G Discounted To $270, 8600G Now Available For $182

The Ryzen 8000G series recently saw a notable price reduction of $20-$30, and even better offers are now available.

The AMD Ryzen 8000G series boasts Phoenix-based APUs with up to 8 Zen4 cores and up to 12 RDNA3 Compute Units. These processors are especially notable for their robust integrated graphics. Additionally, two models in the series come with XDNA accelerators designed for AI inference, although these aren’t widely used in common applications yet. However, the graphics performance remains impressive.

The Radeon 780M and Radeon 760M graphics are especially well-liked because they are also found in gaming handhelds that use the Ryzen 7040U and Ryzen Z1 series. This architecture can occasionally serve as a substitute for discrete graphics, reducing the cost of a new PC. However, they will never match the performance of dedicated graphics cards.

B&H Photo Video is running a promotion on the Ryzen 8000G series, further lowering the prices. The 8700G is now $270, reflecting a $59 reduction and $30 less than last week’s price. The 6-core 8600G has dropped to $182, down from $199, which is $40 below its official MSRP. The Zen4/Zen4c-based 8500G has also seen its first price cut, now available for $159, $20 below its MSRP.

Later this month, AMD will launch the Ryzen 9000 series, featuring the 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X, which is expected to be priced similarly. However, there is no information yet about the non-X variants of the 9000 series, which are anticipated to be more affordable.
