Cooler Master Hyper 212 3DHP Black ARGB CPU Cooler Overview
If you aren’t familiar with Cooler Master’s Hyper 212 series it is actually one of the smallest coolers that they make, and this new version is no different. The official dimensions are 133 x 86 x 158 mm (5.2 x 3.4 x 6.2 inch).
Starting at the front of the cooler we have Cooler Master’s Mobius 120 ARGB fan. This fan makes use of ring blade design that cuts high-frequency noise and keeps operation smooth and quiet—especially when paired with the 3DHP module. There is a non-ARGB version of the cooler that will ship with a normal black fan if you aren’t a fan of the RGB.

One thing worth noting is that the 4-pin power and 3-pin ARGB cables that come off the fan are fully sleeved, which is a nice touch.
Looking at the cooler from the side you can see we have a single-tower design and that tower is not all that thick. We can see that our fan is held into place with simple fan clips. The top of the cooler does have an all-black top cap with a Cooler Master logo on it. I do like the top cap here, Cooler Master is definitely going with a more sleek design on their newer products.

Taking a look at the back of the cooler we get a better view of the heatsink and those 3D heatpipes which go up through the center of the cooler.

When it comes to the heatpipes we do have two 3D heatpipes modules. These are very much like standard heatpipes as they do go up into the heatsink in a “U” fashion, but then you have the center part of the pipe that goes straight up into the heatsink. This design allows Cooler Master to actually use less heatpipes but still have the same amount of performance. Previous Hyper 212 coolers actually had four heatpipes for example.

The base of the cooler is made of copper and it does have a nice finish on it, but we do have some machining marks available.
