Creative Sound Blaster K3+ Review

Final Thoughts

The Creative Sound Blaster K3+ is a great device for anyone really. If you are a gamer, streamer, podcaster or even musician the K3+ will definitely help you step up your audio quality game. It was a nice upgrade over my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 as I have more adjustment than just volume control. I can adjust the bass and treble so I get the perfect sound that I want. Like the Focusrite you do get phantom power, which is great for powering XLR microphones.

The thing that really sets the K3+ apart from other audio interfaces is that it has built in reverb and a sound board. These features can really be a fun way to engage with your audience or add that special effect to a recording. The sound board is only limed to six preset effects, but you do also have the mobile 3.5mm port on the K3+. Here you can have sound effects, music, or pretty much anything queued-up on your phone and play it through the K3+. This really gives you endless possibilities.

The great thing about the K3+ is how easy it is to setup and use. You basically connect two cables with the K3+, the USB port for power / connection to your PC and a microphone. There are no drivers or software you need to install either, the K3+ just works. As long as you have power to the K3+ it will work too, so you don’t even need a PC really. This makes it great for musicians or someone putting on a live, in-person event. If you’ve seen other mixers or audio interfaces they have 2-3 times and many knobs and buttons and can be very daunting for a beginner. The K3+ has just the settings you need and learning what each button / knob does only takes 10-15 minutes.

I really only wish that the K3+ came with a stand or I could buy one somewhere. It sits flat on my desk, which makes the knobs / buttons a little harder to press. A stand that would put it up at and angle would really be perfect.

Right now you can pick up the Sound Blaster K3+ at our favorite online retailer for $99.99, which is a great value for what you are getting. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Creative Sound Blaster K3+ a 9 out of 10 score.
