EK Announces Full Nickel GPU Water Block For Reference RTX 3080/3090

Today, EK has released a new EK-Quantum Vector RE RTX 3080/3090 water block, for reference PCB layout NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards. The block is based on a CNC-machined nickel-plated copper base, while the top is made using nickel-plated brass. The water block has been designed with a thicker 11.2 mm copper base that makes it possible to clear the tall capacitors, too, without affecting the coolant flow.

EK has prioritized optimal cooling and to achieve this an Open Split-Flow cooling engine design was used to design the block. The design features low hydraulic flow restriction, which means the block can be used with weaker water pumps with no toll on the performance. The optimization of the jet plate, fin structure geometry and flow paths provide even flow distributions and reduce hydrodynamic instabilities and vortexing.

Moreover, 27 micro fins with 0.5 mm-wide microchannels have been placed in the fin array that allows optimal cooling performance without any unnecessary flow restrictions or clogging hazards.

The high-quality EPDM O-rings ensure that the water is securely sealed, while the pre-installed brass standoffs ensure easy installation.

The block’s backplate:

The company recommends purchasing Vector Active Backplate retention backplate, which provides two benefits. The backplate not only improves the aesthetics of your card but also provides additional cooling to the GPU core and VRAM.

You can pre-order the EK-Quantum Vector RE RTX 3080/3090 Full Nickel water block for | 209.90€. The shipping is expected to start in mid-May 2021.
