Final Thoughts on the Gigabyte Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Motherboard
Over the past few years motherboards have got really expensive, on both the Intel and AMD side. With a price of $219.99 at our favorite online retailer this has to be one of the most inexpensive Intel Z890 motherboards out there and should definitely be considered if you don’t need all of the bells and whistles of the more expensive motherboards.
When it comes to a Z890 motherboard the Z890 Eagle WiFi7 has essentially everything you would want. You are going to get PCI-Express 5.0 on both the graphics card slot and the top M.2 slot. Talking about M.2 drives you are getting a total of 4 here, plus of course those four SATA ports. USB4 connectivity is here as well with the Type-C on the rear I/O. You are going to get WiFi 7, although it does not support 320MHz bandwidth. There is even RGB lighting!
Another thing I love to see on this board is the ease of use features that will make building, upgrading, or just doing maintenance on your system so easy. The two M.2 heatsinks are completely tool-less and all four of the M.2 slots also offer tool-less installation. There is a button to release your graphics card and even the WiFi antenna just plugs in, no more twisting those little connectors!
Now while the VRM will get the job done, it is not as powerful as what you would find on higher-end boards. We did not have any VRM issues at all with our Intel Core Ultra 285K.
If you don’t need all of the bells and whistles this really is a solid motherboard and when it comes to a Z890 motherboard there isn’t much missing. Priced at $219.99 at our favorite online retailer it is hard to not consider this board, especially because you can take that savings and put it towards a faster SSD, more memory, etc. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Gigabyte Z890 Eagle WiFi7 Motherboard a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!
