During TCL CSOT Global Display Tech-Ecosystem Conference (DTC 2021), the company announced that it is now developing a 4K 32-inch panel that will feature a 240 Hz refresh rate. This frequency is currently not available on any 4K gaming monitor. The details about this panel have not been revealed yet, even the official blog post from the company does not mention this panel right now. According to reports, it was included in the promotional materials given to the Chinese media later on.
ITHome says that a monitor using this panel is to show 1ms response time and TCL’s own image compression algorithm. No info is given regarding how many bits the panel shows.
This panel goes by the name of 32″ UD 240Hz R800 “Gaming Display” on the advertising material. The photograph shows that it is also a curved screen. TCL itself sells gaming monitors, however, the monitors are usually sold to OEMs for further rebranding. So, it is unlikely that the TCL branded 4K 240Hz monitor will be launched.
