Apple has planned an event on Oct 18. The event is for Apple’s highly anticipated redesigned MacBook Pro models. These upcoming MacBook Pro models are overdue for an upgrade for quite some time now.
The new M1X MacBook Pro models will feature a 120Hz refresh rate according to Ross Young, an analyst. In a Twitter conversation, he also suggested that the 14-inch and 16-inch M1X MacBook Pro models will have a mini-LED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Apple has already used the ProMotion display on other series like the iPad Pro series and also utilized it in iPhone 13 Pro models. It is already expected that this technology will be used in the much awaited M1X MacBook Pro models too.
Apple analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman also claimed that the M1X MacBook Pro will feature a mini-LED display. Gurman also declares that the upcoming MacBook upgrade will be the biggest change implemented since 2016. He mentioned the size choices available – 14-inch and 16-inch. Additionally, MagSafe will return but no Touch Bar will be included.
An M1X chip is expected to feature 10 cores and will power the M1X MacBook Pro. 8 out of 10 cores will be high-performance cores for system tasks whereas 2 efficiency cores will be assigned for basic tasks. Further specifications include the 16 or 32-core graphics options with up to 64GB of RAM. The new power is expected to enable enhanced performance achievement and will be catering to ‘Pro’ users.
