ASUS Releases Radeon RX 7700XT/7800XT DUAL Graphics Cards

It’s surprising that ASUS lacks a ROG STRIX model above RX 7600. Their RDNA3-based card selection mainly revolves around TUF Gaming and DUAL designs. Interestingly, ASUS appears to favor NVIDIA GPUs over AMD in this generation, as they offer a total of 14 designs for AMD compared to 69 models for the ASUS RTX 40 series.

Nevertheless, it’s important to highlight some exceptions, like the TUF White model, utilizing the RX 7800 XT. Interestingly, this TUF variant was ASUS’ first model in that series, becoming available two months before its RTX 40 series counterpart.

ASUS has recently unveiled two fresh additions to their DUAL series, both powered by AMD Navi 32. These cards share a dual-fan cooling solution with a 2.47-slot thickness. Notably, these DUAL models embrace a design formerly reserved for NVIDIA cards. In contrast to the Radeon RX 7600, which retained an older RX 6000 series design, these new Radeon cards boast a modern and sleek aesthetic.

The recently released Radeon RX 7700 XT DUAL OC and RX 7800 XT DUAL OC cards feature identical designs but vary in specifications. Both utilize the Navi 32 GPU, with the RX 7800 XT featuring 3840 Stream Processors and 16GB of memory, whereas the RX 7700 XT offers 3456 cores and a 12GB memory configuration.

As per official images, both cards necessitate dual 8-pin power connectors, adhering to the established standard for Navi 32 desktop GPUs. Although a 6-pin+8-pin configuration could satisfy power requirements, many board partners have transitioned away from utilizing 6-pin power connectors in their recent GPU generations.

The RX 7800 XT DUAL OC comes with a factory overclock, boasting game and boost clocks of 2213/2520 MHz, exceeding AMD’s default configuration of 2124/2430 MHz. Likewise, the RX 7700 XT is poised to feature a clock of 2239/2599 MHz, surpassing AMD’s 2161/2544 MHz. These overclock settings are implemented using the ASUS GPU Tweak Software.

Preliminary listings for the RX 7700/7800 DUAL cards on European retail platforms suggest a pricing premium of €100 compared to the least expensive custom models using the same SKUs. While these cards may appear costly, it’s crucial to recognize that these prices could be subject to change. Higher-clocked TUF models are listed at a more affordable rate. Monitor your preferred retailers for possible adjustments in pricing.
