We recently took at look at NZXT’s Kraken X63, a 280mm AIO liquid cooler with upgraded components for performance, and a larger infinity mirror for looks. Today we are back with another NZXT AIO, the Kraken Z73. The Kraken Z73 is a 360mm AIO with the same performance upgrades found on the X63, but with a much more enhanced pump block. This time around, NZXT has outfitted the Z-series of coolers with a 2.36″ LCD display that can be customized to your liking via CAM. We know that flashy aesthetics get folks excited for new products, and we are right there with them, but do the Z73’s upgraded cooling components make this an AIO worthy of cooling your system? Follow along to find out!
Special thanks to NZXT for providing the Kraken Z73 review sample!

Packaging
Just like the X63, the Kraken Z73 comes packaged in NZXT’s white and purple boxing, with a large image of the cooler on the front/top of the box. Shown off here is a teaser of the Z73’s LCD-equipped pump housing, as well as the three 120mm Aer P120 fans that are attached to the radiator. Just above the product image is a large product label and text indicating that the Kraken Z73 inside is a 360mm cooler with LCD display.
The back/bottom of the box provides a bit more product information regarding the customization possible with the Kraken Z73 thanks to its 2.36″ LDC display and NZXT CAM compatibility.
With the box open, we see that NZXT has included a physical manual, and that the cooler and its associated components have been packed in a shaped cardboard “tub” that helps keep everything safe and secure during shipping and handling.
Taking the tub out of the box reveals that each major component has been protected by its own plastic bag, and that the radiator has been protected with a cardboard sleeve. We really appreciate this extra radiator protection, as the fins on radiators are actually quite delicate and can be bent fairly easily. All of the accessories that are included with the cooler have also been stored in their own bags for easy organization.
Accessories
Included with the Kraken 763 is everything you need to install the cooler on a variety of Intel and AMD systems. Supported platforms go back quite a few years and designs, but it is always good to verify system compatibility before making any purchases. A variety of mounting brackets and their associated hardware are individually bagged and labeled for each platform, which is much better than a single bag with all of the mounting hardware just thrown in. There is also a break out cable with SATA power for powering the pump itself, as well as a 3-pin header for pump tach monitoring, three 4-pin headers for fan control, and a RGB lighting expansion connection. A Micro-USB to USB header cable is present for controlling the pump’s lighting via an internal USB 2.0 header.
