AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Discounted To $247 Making It The Cheapest AM5 8-core CPU

AMD has reduced the price of its 8-core CPU, the Ryzen 7 7700, making it the most affordable 8-core processor for the new AM5 socket. The non-X version of the 7700 was launched in January 2023 at $329. However, like most AMD processors at the time, this price quickly dropped, with the CPU selling for around $300 until February. By the end of May, following the announcement of the Ryzen 9000 series, retailers had further lowered the price to $270.

The Ryzen 7 7700 is now priced at $246.98, the new MSRP across various retailers. This adjustment sets a new price point for the processor, which will soon face increased competition among AM5 SKUs.

Since the introduction of the AM5 socket, AMD has released five 8-core Zen 4 processors. This lineup includes the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now priced at $339 (down from its original $449 MSRP), and the Ryzen 7 8700G, priced at $299 (down from $329), which features Radeon 780M graphics based on the RDNA3 iGPU. For those looking for more affordable options, the Ryzen 7 7700X is available for $273, and the Ryzen 7 8700F is priced at $269. Nonetheless, the non-X 7700 remains the most affordable choice.

Next month, AMD is launching the Ryzen 7 9700X, which features 8 Zen 5 cores. Considering the current pricing of competing 8-core AM5 processors the 9700X shouldn’t be significantly more expensive.
