ASUS is launching two ROG monitors, both 27 inches in size, with varying resolutions and refresh rates. The lineup comprises the XG27UCS and XG27ACS models under the ROG Strix series. These monitors boast a sleek, clutter-free design and a unique feature allowing gamers to utilize the stand as a smartphone holder. Furthermore, they come equipped with USB Type-C connectors for charging convenience.
The XG27UCS offers 4K resolution and a 160 Hz refresh rate, whereas the XG27ACS provides 1440p gaming with a 180 Hz refresh rate. Both monitors feature a 1 ms response time for seamless action. These new ROG Strix monitors will come in black and white (XG27ACS-W) color options.
ASUS has confirmed that both monitors are compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC, ensuring tear-free gaming. They also support Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB Sync). While the panels meet DisplayHDR 400 certification standards for HDR technology, they fall short of HDR 600. However, considering they belong to the budget segment, this limitation is understandable. ASUS has also confirmed wide (95-97%) DCI-P3 gamut support for both panels.
Evidently, there’s an AI algorithm at play here, incorporating GamePlus technology to analyze scenes in real-time and fine-tune the crosshair for enhanced accuracy. ASUS also asserts that the integrated Dynamic Shadow Boost technology will illuminate dark areas without overexposing brighter ones, providing gamers with an edge in low-light environments.
Connectivity choices encompass DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0, and USB Type-C with DP Alt mode and Power Delivery. Presently, the XG27ACS is accessible starting at US$269, whereas the XG27UCS is slated for release soon with a price tag of US$449.
