SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD Review

Final Thoughts

SanDisk has once again done it again with a portable solid state drive. I was waiting for SanDisk to come out with this drive and it will likely replace the USB 3.2 gen 2 portable solid state drive I’ve been using. The drive itself looks awesome and I love the coating on the back of the drive. This makes it easier to pick up, but at the same time protects your desk and keeps it in place. I also like that SanDisk has improved the key-hole with metal. The means you don’t have to worry if you happen to attach the drive to your keys or an lanyard.

In our testing the drive performed right up to its specifications and was towards the top of the charts in many of our tests. At around 1000 MB/s the Extreme Pro is a great drive for transferring files, a mobile editing drive for photo and video, and a game drive. You won’t be disappointed in the performance of this drive.

SanDisk does provide their SecureAccess software with this drive, which is a nice addition. One of the best things about this drive is the 5-year warranty. Most drives we’ve seen come with a 3-year warranty, but having a 5-year warranty is very impressive. Now this drive is a little more expensive than other USB 3.2 gen 2 drives at $189.99 for the 1TB version at our favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD a 9 out of 10 score.
